By just scoring his 31st runs of this first innings, Smith has now completed his 9000 runs in Test Cricket. He has become the second fastest batter in Test Cricket history to complete the 9000 runs. He achieved this feat in 174 innings. Former legendary wicket-keeper of Sri Lanka, Kumar Sangakkara has got this milestone in just 172 innings.
The third batter in this list is former Indian superstar batter Rahul Dravid who got these 9000 runs in 176 runs while Brian Lara and Ricky Ponting, both the batter achieved this milestone in 177 innings.
Australia got a decent start in this match and lost the first wicket at 73 runs. They lost Usman Khawaja at his individual score of 17 runs. The star left-handed opener David Warner scored 66 runs before getting out against the debutant Josh Tongue.
