Steve Smith equaled the record for the most centuries in Test cricket against India by scoring 121 runs on the second day of the World Test Championship final at The Oval on Thursday. The former captain of England Joe Root currently holds the record for the most centuries in Test cricket against India.

Steve Smith continued his batting from yesterday’s 95 runs and completed his 31st Test century by hitting two boundaries against Mohammed Siraj.

Smith is now one century behind Steve Waugh in the list of players with the most Test centuries for Australia. Ricky Ponting is currently holding the top position for Australia with 41 centuries in Test Cricket.

Also, in terms of scoring the most hundred in England Steve Smith has joined Steve Waugh with seven centuries. Now, he is only behind Sir Don Bradman who has 11 centuries in British country
