Record Alert: Skipper Rohit Sharma Creates World Record With His Raining Sixes Against Australia

The 2nd T20I match between Australia and India was played at Vidarbha Cricket Stadium, Nagpur, in which the hosts crushed the Australians by six wickets.

Rain interrupted the match and the game was introduced to 8 overs for both the teams. Batting first Australia set a target of 91 runs thanks to the storm by Matthew Wade( 43 off 20 balls) and Aaron Finch( 31 off 15 runs).

India reached the target with 4 balls to spare. Thanks to the fearless inning by captain Rohit Sharma who took just 20 balls to get 46 runs with 4 fours and 4 sixes.

With these 4 sixes Rohit Sharma created history to smash most sixes in T20I. During this inning, he surpassed New Zealand’s Martin Guptill who has got 172 sixes in the shortest format of the game. Now, the Indian Skipper has 176 sixes to his name.

If we look at the top 5 players in this list, West Indian giant Chris Gayle has 124, former England captain Eoin Morgan has 120 and Australian skipper Aaron Finch has 119 sixes in his International T20 career.

The decider of this T20 series will be played on September 25 in Hyderabad.
