Record Alert: Rohit Sharma Creates 3 Massive Records With His Brilliant Hundred Against Aussies In Nagpur

Indian captain and opener Rohit Sharma created history by scoring a brilliant century on the second day of the first Test against Australia in Nagpur. This is the ninth century of Rohit’s Test career and his first century in this format as captain. With his century, Hitman made some major records.

Rohit Sharma became the first Indian captain to score an international century in all three formats of cricket. At the same time, he also became the fourth to do so in world cricket. Before him, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Faf du Plessis, and Babar Azam have scored centuries as captains in all three formats.

Rohit has become the seventh Indian captain to score a century in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, Mohammad Azharuddin, Sourav Ganguly, Ajinkya Rahane, and MS Dhoni had done this feat earlier.

After 10 years, an Indian captain has scored a century against Australia at home. Earlier in 2013, MS Dhoni did this feat when he scored 224 runs. Apart from Rohit and Dhoni, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, and Mohammad Azharuddin scored centuries at home against Australia.

In this match Australian captain Pat Cummins won the toss and elected to bat first. The Australian team was all out for 177 runs in the first innings. In bowling for India, Ravindra Jadeja took five wickets and Ravichandran Ashwin took three wickets.
