Kuldeep Yadav has been in excellent form in ODI cricket these days and in the ongoing Asia Cup tournament he has been exceptional with his bowling. He was the key player for India for bringing two back to back victories to the team. In the match against Pakistan Kuldeep got five wickets while he managed to get four against Sri Lanka, which was also a crucial match for India.
In the game against Sri Lanka, Kuldeep showcased his skills by capturing four wickets and played a pivotal role in defending India’s relatively modest total of 213 runs.
This remarkable collection of wickets not only ensured a must needed win for India but also represented a notable milestone for the spinner. Kuldeep Yadav achieved the milestone of 150 wickets in One Day Internationals in just 88 matches. Now he becomes the fastest Indian spinner to achieve this feat.
With this he has surpassed the former Indian legend Anil Kumble who reached 150 wickets in 106 matches. Overall, Kuldeep Yadav stands becomes the fourth-quickest spinner to attain this landmark in ODI cricket. The first in the list is Saqlain Mushtaq (78 matches), Rashid Khan (80 matches), and Ajantha Mendis (84 matches).
After the match while talking at the post-match presentation, Rohit Sharma said,”For the past year or so bowling has been really really well. He has done a lot of hard work on his rhythm. He went back to the drawing board and worked on it. The ball is coming out nicely and you can see the results in the last 10 ODIs.”
