Record Alert: Joe Root Surpasses Virat Kohli And Sachin Tendulkar, Makes Unique Record With His 46 Runs Knock

In the first Test of the most renowned Ashes Series between England and Australia, the visitors needed 281 runs to win against the starter being played at Edgbaston. On the fifth day, Australia needs 174 runs to win with seven wickets in hand. On the contrary, the backbone of England’s batting lineup Joe Root made a unique record on the fourth day of the Test even after being dismissed.

Root was sent to the Pavilion by Australian spin wizard Nathan Lyon after scoring 46 runs in the second innings. For the very first time in his Test Career Root has been stumped. He scored an amazing hundred in the first innings as well.

Now the star batter of England has the second most runs in Test Cricket before being dismissed in the form of stumping. Before him, West Indian batting legend Shivnarine Chanderpaul is there with 11,414 runs. Root has 11,168 runs. Root has surpassed the Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar and the Virat Kohli. Kohli has 8,195 runs before being stumped, on the other hand, Sachin Tendulkar has scored 7,419 runs.
