Record Alert: Babar Azam Creates Another World Record, Surpasses Virat Kohli And Hashim Amla To Get The Fastest 5000 Runs

In the ongoing 4th match between Pakistan and New Zealand at National Stadium Karachi, Pakistan Captain Babar Azam created a world record by surpassing Indian batter Virat Kohli.

While batting first in this match after losing the toss, Pakistan team hung a total of 334 runs at the loss of six wickets. For the hosts, Babar Azam scored the maximum 107 runs with the help of 10 fours.

In this match, as Babar scored the 19th run of his inning, he became the fastest batter to reach the milestone of 5000 ODI runs. With this Babar Azam broke the record of both Virat Kohli and Hashim Amla, and achieved 5000 ODI runs in just 97 innings on the other hand.

Before Azam, this record belonged to Amla who got 5000 ODI runs in 101 innings. Star Indian batter achieved this milestone in 114 innings and shared this record with the West Indian great Vivian Richards. The star Australian opener is also in the list who completed 5000 runs in 50-over cricket in 115 innings.

Let us tell you that, the Pakistan captain is also the second fastest to achieve 4000 runs and third fastest to get 3000 ODI runs.

It is also the hundred number 18 for Babar Azam in the ODIs. He has 5088 runs in 50-over cricket with an average of 59.86 and strike rate of 89.31. In Test, he has 9 centuries while he also got three centuries in T20I.
