RCB vs SRH, IPL 2024: He Deserves The Blames For RCB’s Failure, Irfan Pathan Slams This Cricketer

Faf du Plessis is leading Royal Challengers Bengaluru for the third year in a row in the Indian Premier League. However, despite his efforts, he hasn’t managed to guide them to the trophy. He joined the team in 2022 and became captain after Virat Kohli left the designation.

Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan criticized Faf for the franchise’s poor performance. In IPL 2024, Bengaluru has lost six out of seven matches. The batters have struggled to make consistent contributions, and the bowlers have been conceding too many runs in matches.

While talking to Star Sports, Pathan said, “Faf has been with the franchise for a long time, and as a captain, he is involved in the auction process and player retention. He deserves all the blame, as there is no balance in any department of the game.”

“They didn’t buy good players in the auction. When you are leading a franchise, you must add performers to the squad.”

In their recent match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, the bowlers from RCB allowed their opponents to score 287/3, which is the highest total ever recorded in IPL history. Four RCB bowlers conceded more than 50 runs each, setting a new record in the history of the league.

Despite RCB scoring 262/7 in 20 overs, they never appeared close to chasing the target. Despite Dinesh Karthik’s strong innings of 83 runs, it wasn’t enough. Faf also scored a fifty-plus score, but it wasn’t sufficient for them to win.
