Why has RCB so far not finalized their home for IPL 2026?

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) must decide which stadium they will use for their home games during the Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) season. The Chinnaswamy stadium lost its hosting rights because of the stampede incident which resulted in multiple deaths following the team victory in their first championship last year.

The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has authorized them to use the stadium as their official match venue. The situation is more difficult than people believe because some required protocols must still be completed. RCB needs to obtain clarification on their upcoming provisions which involve three parties the KSCA the BCCI and the Karnataka state government.

RCB stated that their initial discussions with partners have created various unidentified aspects that require examination before they can proceed to develop their team and fan analysis process.

RCB must decide their home stadium for IPL 2026 by January 27. The BCCI still needs to receive confirmation about RCB’s home stadium choice for the upcoming IPL 2026 season. BCCI vice president Rajeev Shukla confirmed that the franchise must choose their home stadium for the upcoming IPL season before January 27.

He said earlier today that RCB and RR must decide their home stadiums within seven days.
