Rashid Khan is having a tough time in this IPL season, and it’s not just bad luck. It could be that batters are getting smarter about facing him, or maybe the wickets are playing a part. Either way, he just doesn’t seem to have that same zip and control we usually expect from him. This season, while playing for the Gujarat Titans, he’s only taken one wicket over three matches. In fact, he gave up 48 runs in one game and 54 in another. Sure, there were some dropped catches, but this is the second time he went without a wicket in this tournament. Against RCB, he got hit for 54 runs, including five sixes, and the pitch at M Chinnaswamy Stadium was good for batting.
This 0/54 performance ties Rashid for the worst bowling figures in his IPL career. Interestingly, he joins Mohit Sharma, who also recorded 0/54 against RCB at the same venue last year when he was still with Gujarat. Here’s a quick look at the most expensive bowling figures for Gujarat in Bengaluru during IPL:
- 0/54 – Mohit Sharma vs RCB (2023)
- 0/54 – Rashid Khan vs RCB (2025)
- 4/45 – Josh Little vs RCB (2024)
It seems like batters have figured him out a bit, especially since Rashid has been playing in various leagues across the globe. He might not feel like a huge threat right now. Once the conditions change and wickets start to wear down, he might come back into form. However, if he’s the only overseas bowler in the Titans’ lineup, they’re really hoping he turns things around soon.
In the meantime, without Rashid performing at his peak, the Titans have been relying on R Sai Kishore. He hasn’t had much playtime in the IPL before but is starting to show what he can do. On the same pitch where Rashid struggled, Kishore bowled an impressive 2/22. While Mohammed Siraj had a solid opening spell that set the tone, Kishore managed to keep the RCB batters in check during the middle overs, which was no easy task. Overall, it’s clear that while Rashid is having a rough go, others like Kishore are stepping up in his absence.
