India’s fast bowlers, Akash Deep and Mohammed Siraj (6/70 and 1/57), were key in breaking down England’s batting in both innings. Akash Deep was especially impressive, taking 10 wickets (4/88 and 6/99). This is the best match record by an Indian in England, beating Chetan Sharma’s old record of 10/188.
Akashdeep and Siraj bowled well, and England had a hard time, Sharma noted.
India is in charge of the series, even when we lose a match. We have a strong group of talented players, he added.
People miss him because they wanted him to play, but his retirement from Test cricket was his choice, Sharma said about Virat Kohli.
