Rajat Patidar hopeful of a improved performance from RCB at home

Rajat Patidar, captain of RCB, believes that the pitches of M Chinnaswamy have turned a little tricky this season in IPL, but he believed that it is no excuse. The team had done great out of the rest, having won five from eight matches, while they flopped at home with three losses in three matches at the stadium.

“It’s a matter of adjustment by the players. The ground staff is doing a good job,” said Patidar about the condition of the pitch during the press conference before their match against Rajasthan Royals. “We haven’t been playing well at home, so let’s see how it goes. The pitches are a bit indeterminate this time, but that’s not an excuse. We’ll adapt,” he said during the press conference before their match against the Rajasthan Royals.

Thus, shot selection becomes very important because that would be inconsistent bounce; already bowlers are having more of an advantage, as he explained. The batters need to think carefully about the selection of shots because the pitches are not always the same. The right selection of shots becomes really important here with varying bounce during and after.

Patidar also pointed out to the fact that the team was learning from past mistakes, which aided them in winning matches away from home. “It’s all about focusing on the moment since we have back-to-back matches in this league. We do learn from our past losses, but do not live in our past. It’s all about being present at the moment,” he concluded.
