Social media can be pretty wild, and sometimes controversies pop up out of nowhere. Recently, people were buzzing about Virat Kohli liking a post from social media star Avneet Kaur, which got everyone talking. This led to Kohli and his team at Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) having to clear things up. Kohli explained that it was just a mistake with Instagram’s algorithm that made it look like he interacted with the post.
Things calmed down a bit until singer Rahul Vaidya stepped in. He posted some stories on Instagram poking fun at Kohli’s explanation. He joked, I want to say that going forward, the algorithm might like a bunch of photos I didn’t even like. So, to all the girls, don’t make a fuss about it; it’s not my fault, it’s Instagram’s fault!
Rahul also mentioned that Kohli had blocked him on Instagram over the post, but he wondered if that was just another glitch like Kohli suggested. He joked, saying, I think that too is an Instagram glitch, maybe Kohli didn’t actually block me.
After his posts, Vaidya faced some backlash from Kohli’s fans, who he said were being quite harsh. He expressed his frustration, especially about them targeting his family. It’s fine if you’re coming at me, but when you start abusing my wife and sister, that’s too much! That’s why I say Kohli’s fans are jokers!
In a Zoom call, Rahul admitted he is a fan of Kohli as a cricketer but doesn’t have the same feelings about him personally. He emphasized that his post about Virat and Avneet was just a joke. He said, I used to be a fan; I still am of him as a cricketer, but not as a person.”
Kohli, in his response about the situation with Avneet’s post, clarified, I just want to say that while clearing my feed, it looks like the algorithm made it seem like I interacted with it. There was no intention behind it. Please don’t jump to conclusions.
