Rahul Dravid To Be Sacked As Head Coach After 2023 ODI World Cup, BCCI Already Picks This Star As Replacement

Indian cricket team had a disappointing year in 2022 where the team was unable to clinch any single tournament be it the Asia Cup 2022 or the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia. The board also made many frequent changes which nowhere went in the favour of the team.

On January 1, BCCI had a review meeting where head coach Rahul Dravid and chief selector Chetan Sharma were also present in the presence of some other board officials. The discussion was all for the upcoming 2023 ODI World Cup held in India.

Meanwhile, news has been sparkling that Apex Council is no more interested in Rahul Dravid as the head coach and they will bring out a new face after the 2023 ODI World Cup. For this, they have already decided the name which is the current National Cricket Academy (NCA) Head VVS Laxman. Laxman was stand-in coach for team India during several series in 2022 especially during the ODIs under the captaincy of Shikhar Dhawan.

The reports from News18 claims that Rahul Dravid’s tenure will end by November 2022 and the board members are not interested to continue with him. Till date, VVS Laxman is their only and first choice for Rahul Dravid’s replacement.

Laxman also took charge during the Asia Cup 2022 when Rahul Dravid was suffering from Covid-19. Currently team India is all set for the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka, the first one starting from today in Mumbai.
