R Ashwin gets a massive relief in the latest ball tampering allegation

The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association has cleared Dindigul Dragons of the ball-tampering allegations that were raised during the TNPL. This news is a relief for Ravichandran Ashwin and his team, especially after their impressive win against Siechem Madurai Panthers.

The Dragons faced some tough accusations from the Panthers, who claimed they were tampering with the ball using towels during a tense match on June 14. The COO of the Panthers, S. Mahesh, said the towels looked suspicious. But after looking into it, the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association found no proof against the Dragons, letting them off the hook.

TNPL CEO Prasanna Kannan stated that the towels were provided by the TNCA and were available to both teams. He also mentioned that the match officials kept a close eye on the ball during the game and that no issues were raised at the time. It seems the claims made by the Panthers were unfounded.

Now that the Dragons are in the clear, it will be interesting to see if the league takes any action against the Madurai Panthers for their false claims. After beating the Panthers by nine wickets, the Dragons narrowly lost to Chepauk Super Gillies by eight runs. They currently sit fifth in the standings and will next play against the Salem Spartans.
