“Qualifying for super 8 is…”Rohit Sharma’s massive statement after Team India beats USA

Team India’s skipper, Rohit Sharma, was highly relieved as India became the third team after Australia and South Africa to qualify for the Super 8. Rohit feels that these are hard-earned wins, as Team India needed to level up their game in all three matches to register three wins on trot.
After electing to bowl first, India’s bowlers once again made excellent use of the bowling conditions as they bowled out hosts for just 110, with Arshdeep Singh being the pick of the bowlers for team India as he picked up 4 wickets, giving away just 9 runs in his 4 overs.
However, the high-spirited USA made a staggering comeback as left-arm pacer Saurabh Netravalkar dismissed both Virat Kohli (0) and Rohit Sharma (3) in quick succession to reduce the visitors to 10/2. However, Suryakumar Yadav (50) and Shivam Dube (31) helped India clinch the match with 10 balls to spare.

Speaking about the game in his post-match presentation, Rohit Sharma said, “It is a big relief; playing cricket here wasn’t easy. We had to stick through till the end in all three games. I will take a lot of confidence from these wins.”

“I knew it would be tough. Credit goes to us for the way we held our nerve and got that partnership. Credit to Surya and Dube for showing maturity and taking us through,” Rohit added.
Rohit Sharma even went on to praise, especially the way Suryakumar Yadav batted as he registered his first half century of this World Cup edition.

Speaking about Suryakumar Rohit Sharma, he said, “He showed he has a different game to him; that’s what you expect from experienced players. Credit goes to the way he stuck through today to take the game deep and win it for us.”

Team India will play their final game against Canada on June 15 in Florida.
