The 17th season of one of the biggest leagues in the world, the IPL, is going to take center stage in a few days, and all the teams are set to take on each other for the ultimate glory.
However, ahead of the 17th season of the IPL, the Punjab Kings have made a major change coming into this year’s IPL. The franchise is all set to play its home games at a new venue, i.e., Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Stadium, located in Mullanpur, Mohali.
The IPL schedule for the first two weeks has been announced, with Royal Challengers Bangalore taking on the defending champion Chennai Super Kings. On the other hand, the Punjab Kings are set to play their first game on March 23 against the Delhi Capitals.
The Punjab Kings will play their first game in Mohali. Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Stadium has previously hosted domestic matches for the last two years and has the capacity of accommodating 33000 fans at one time.
Before Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Stadium, Punjab Kings played their home match in the IPL at Bindra Stadium, which had a capacity of 27000 people.
As per the reports, the new stadium has a brilliant infrastructure, a well-equipped drainage system, international dressing rooms, and a gym.

On the other hand, Mohali is set to host only one IPL game till now, when the Punjab Kings will be taking on the Royal Challengers Bangalore on March 25.
Shikhar Dhawan’s team finished eighth last season with just six wins in their 14 matches; however, they will be hopeful of an improved season this year.
