PSL 2023: 20 Fours & 5 Sixes, What Jason Roy Said After Record Thunderous 145* Knock

In the 25th match of the Pakistan Super League, Jason Roy came with all guns and blazes and hit a century against Peshawar Zalmi at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on 8th March. Roy smashed 145 not out in just 63 balls with the help of 20 sixes and five sixes. With this epic inning, Quetta Gladiator managed to chase the target of 241 runs in 18.2 overs.

With this inning, he also clinched the highest individual record in PSL history. Before Roy, Colin Ingram of South Africa has scored  127 runs in 2019. Roy shared his thoughts on his blistering inning and talked about his approach against the bowlers in this match.

“This is my best T20 innings, no doubt about it. I am sure this will go down for me as one of the greatest, and it will definitely live for a long time in my memory. For me, in T20 cricket, this is my favorite-ever inning because I was there till the end. Incredible, that’s the only kind of word that can sum it up. It’s a great advert for PSL and T20 cricket,” Roy during the post-match presentation.

In this match, Batting first Peshawar Zalmi led by Babar Azam got 240 runs thanks to the century by Babar where he scored 115 runs in 65 balls. It looked that 240 is a much more defendable score but Jason Roy had another plan.

Jason Roy further added, “That was incredible to watch; unfortunately, it was against us. To watch Babar first-hand was very special but he could have done with getting a little less to make it a little easier for us.”
