Prithvi Shaw makes a shocking revelation that affected his cricket Career

Prithvi Shaw has had a rough few years. Once seen as the future star of Indian cricket, he got dropped from the Mumbai Ranji Trophy squad and didn’t get picked in the IPL 2025 auction. There have been a lot of rumors about his fitness and lifestyle, leading to criticism from fans and experts alike. In a chat with News24 Sports, the 25-year-old opened up about his struggles, admitting that he got sidetracked from the game.

I made some bad choices in life. I started to focus less on cricket. Before 2023, I spent almost half my day at the ground. But then I began to prioritize the wrong things and hung out with the wrong crowd. When you’re on top, it’s easy to attract friends, but I lost my way and my time at the ground dropped from 8 hours to only 4, he shared.

He also talked about the tough time he went through after losing his grandfather, who was very special to him. There are a lot of things going on. It’s not just one thing. My grandfather passed away, and that hit me hard. There are things I can’t really explain, but I feel them.

Prithvi acknowledged his mistakes but expressed gratitude for his dad’s constant support through tough times. Recently, he’s made headlines by deciding to leave Mumbai to play for a different team in the Ranji Trophy, and he has already received a No Objection Certificate from the Mumbai Cricket Association.
