Praveen Kumar Takes Aim at Mumbai Indians Captain Hardik Pandya

Team India’s former fast bowler Praveen Kumar slammed Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandaya ahead of the upcoming IPL season. Praveen Kumar raised questions about Hardik Pandya’s credibility and willingness to play for his state team and for Team India.

In an interview, Praveen Kumar said,You get injured two months before the IPL, you don’t play for the country, you don’t play for your state in domestic cricket, and you just directly play in the IPL.
That’s not how things should be done. It’s okay to earn money; there’s nothing wrong with that. But you have to play for state and country, and now people only give importance to the IPL.”.

Hardik Pandaya will be captaining the Mumbai Indians in the upcoming IPL season. Hardik Pandaya has been out of action since the One Day World Cup, in which the all-rounder suffered an ankle injury. Hardik Panda returned to the Mumbai Indians set-up after two years.

Hardik Pandaya was with the Gujarat Titans, who picked him as their draft pick. He led them to their first IPL trophy in their inaugural season. The Gujrat Titans even reached the final of the previous edition of the IPL, where they were defeated by the Chennai Super Kings under Pandya’s captaincy.

However, Hardik Pandya was traded to the Mumbai Indians from the Gujarat Titans ahead of the 2024 IPL auction, replacing Rohit Sharma as the new captain of the Mumbai Indians for the upcoming season.

Speaking on the same, Praveen Kumar said the franchise should have struck with Rohit Sharma as their skipper. “Yes, Rohit can do it. Not only for one year, but he can do it for two, three years. But eventually, the decision lies in the hands of the management.”

Mumbai Indians are all set to begin their IPL campaign on March 24 against the Gujarat Titans at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahemdabad.
