There exists an immense buzz in the country for him, especially in Bihar, from where he hails. Even the prime minister acknowledged his efforts and appreciated the promising start.

PM Modi said that the son of Bihar made a big impact with his 35-ball 100 against the Gujarat Titans, along with a variety of records. Thus the development of sports in the country needs to be encouraged so that more talented players like Vaibhav can be found. “If you play more, you will keep improving,” said Modi while addressing the Khelo India Youth Games in Bihar. He further spoke about efforts by the government to take up several new sports so that athletes have more opportunities. Among them are Gatka and Yogasana.
