The 17th season of the IPL is set to start in less than 48 hours, when all ten teams will be up against one another for the ultimate glory.
However, at the end of the 17th season, there are a few players who could hang their boots in the IPL.
- Ms. Dhoni: Team India’s captain Cool is going to lead CSK in the upcoming IPL season. He is currently 42, and with mega auctions lined up for next year, there is a high possibility of Ms. retiring after the 2024 IPL season.
- Dinesh Karthik: One of the veterans to play in the in the IPL since its inaugural season, Dinesh Karthik is also all set to retire after this year’s IPL. Karthik is currently 39 years of age and has played over 200 IPL matches.
- Amit Mishra: One of the leading wicket takers in the IPL, Amit Mishra, might also hang his boots after the IPL 2024 competition. Amit Mishra is currently 41 and might retire due to a to a mega auction before next year’s IPL.
- David Warner: This name can shock everyone, but David Warner can also retire from the IPL. The Southpaw is 36 years old and has already retired from international cricket, playing only the Twenty20 format for Australia. He has struggled in the IPL in the previous few seasons.
- Sunil Narine: One of the veterans to play in the IPL Sunil Narine can also retire from the IPL after the completion of the 17th season, as the Carabian all-rounder is not able to contribute much with both bat and ball.
