Pakistan Cricket Board is all set to announce their new chief selector and according to the reports, former Pakistan batter Inzamam-ul-Haq is in the leading face to become the new chief selector for the men in green. With Zaka Ashraf now heading the Pakistan Cricket Board, efforts are being made to reorganize the national team setup, leading to Inzamam’s potential return. The team’s current director, Mickey Arthur and head coach Grant Bradburn, are also part of the selection committee.
On the other hand, Ashraf has recently established a Cricket Technical Committee (CTC) which includes Misbah-ul-Haq, Inzamam, and Mohammad Hafeez. This group has been entrusted with the responsibility of making crucial choices concerning the selection of members for the new selection committee. Their main focus is on enhancing the growth of Pakistan cricket. As a result, they now possess the power to determine the future of Mickey Arthur and Grant Bradburn.
“The Cricket Technical Committee members including Misbah ul Haq, Inzamam and Muhammad Hafeez have been discussing the new selection committee and it is yet to be decided whether Arthur and Bradburn should remain members on it,” a source was quoted as saying by NDTV.
According to a source, former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq will hold discussions with team captain Babar Azam. After this conversation, a conclusive decision will be made regarding their participation in the selection committee.
“Once Babar’s views are taken, the Cricket Technical Committee will also finalize its recommendation for the Chairman,” the source added.
