In the 33rd match of the Indian Premier League, Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings faced each other at Mullanpur Stadium where the hosts lost the game by nine runs.
For Mumbai Indians, Suryakumar Yadav played exceptionally well and Jasprit Bumrah bowled impressively. This is the third win for Mumbai Indians in the tournament which has placed the team at number seven. Despite great performances from Ashutosh Sharma and Shashank Singh, MI emerged victorious by 9 runs. Suryakumar scored 78 runs, and Bumrah took 3 wickets in the match.
While batting first, MI lost Ishan Kishan early in the innings. However, Suryakumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma took the innings ahead for Mumbai Indians. After Rohit got out for 36, Suryakumar took charge to accelerate the scoring, supported by Tilak Verma. Despite a good final over by Harshal Patel, PBKS managed to limit MI to 192 runs in their 20 overs.
For Punjab Kings, Ashutosh Sharma scored 61 runs in 28 balls which includes two fours and seven sixes. Apart from him, Shashank Singh also contributed with 41 runs in just 25 balls but failed to win the match.
Punjab Kings were bowled out in 19.1 overs where Kagiso Rabada went to the pavilion as the last wicket.
