Punjab Kings star batter Shashank Singh decoded the main reason behind his success as an unknown talent in the IPL. Shashank believes that it’s all about confidence and self-belief.
Apart from Shashank, many of the unknown stars, like Maynak Yadav and Angkrish Raghuvanshi, have emerged as match winners in this year’s IPL season.
Speaking about the same, Sashank said, “The only thing is self-belief. Like the way we played in domestic cricket. Like you see Nitish here. He usually scored and took wickets in white-ball and red-ball both.”
“Ashutosh, you see that he did very well in the Mushtaq Ali and Vijay Hazare trophy. But the others who are coming in, like Angkrish from KKR,”
Shashank Singh further added, “So the players who are coming in, yes, may be unknown here, but they are known players in the domestic circuit. We play domestically, and they are doing very well. So it is the reward for that.
Whatever you do domestically, you continue doing the same here.”
“That performance brings you here. Cricket is a game of self-belief. I think at this level, whatever you do, you bring confidence and self-belief here, and then you do well here. Obviously luck is part of it, but then that self-relief confidence is always there.”
Sashank Singh produced another sublime performance in this year’s IPL. Sashank scored 46 of 29 deliveries against Sunrisers Hyderabad but could not prevent the team from losing the match by 2 runs.
PBKS will play against the Rajasthan Royals on April 13.
