Prabhsimran said that Iyer is a blessing for them with his phenomenal experience as a player and as a leader. He really appreciates how Iyer makes smart decisions on the ground, which is very vital to their success.
What really stands from Prabhsimran is the support given in Iyer’s teammates who are going through a bit of rough patch. While working with under-performing players, Iyer would take the time to boost their morale and confidence. That kind of leadership truly has an impact on a team’s performance.
As an interesting side note, before the mega-auction for 2025, Kolkata Knight Riders made an exception by releasing Shreyas Iyer, who, last year, led the team to the IPL final. He later made headlines as the second-highest-paid player in IPL history with a contract worth 26.75 crore after joining Punjab Kings.
For now, Punjab Kings are placed in the fifth position on the points table with 11 points, thanks to their five victories in nine matches. This scenario has left Prabhsimran and his team in more contention for the playoffs as the cricket fanatics are eager to see how the season unfolds!
