Sunrisers Hyderabad’s skipper, Pat Cummins, breathed a sign of relief after winning a run feast against the Mumbai Indians by 31 runs. After being invited to bat first, Sunrisers Hyderabad registered the highest IPL score ever in history, making 277/3.

Pat Cummins was excited after SRH registered their first victory of the season in front of a home crowd.

Cummins was all praise for Abhishek Sharma’s fearless approach in his innings.

In his post-match ceremony, Pat Cummins said, “That was insane. It’s one of those games. It felt like they were finding boundaries whenever they wanted. It was good to finish on the winning side. In IPL, we have played in front of big crowds, and to see Abhishek Sharma play with freedom was good to watch. You never played for 270. We wanted to play positively with the impact player and score aggressively.”

Sunrisers Hyderabad Annihilated Mumbai Indians bowling as Travis Head (62 off 24) and Abhishek Sharma (63 off 23) went all guns blazing from the word go. Later on, Henrich Klassen (80 off 34 deliveries) and Aiden Markram (42 of 28) helped SRH post a mammoth total of 277/3, breaking RCB’s record (263/5) for the highest ever team score in the history of the IPL.

Coming in to chase the Mumbai Indians started off very well with Rohit Sharma (26 of 12) alongside Ishan Kishan (34 of 13), followed by Naman Dhir (30 of 14), and Tilak Verma (64 of 34). Later on, Tim David played an explosive innings (42 of 22), but in the end, Mumbai fell short by 31 runs.

Cummins further stated, “It’s obviously a good wicket. You have to decide that you will go for some boundaries. The cutters helped in the last phase. The first home game is here. The crowd was very loud, and it was amazing.”
