Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are once again going to be the center of attention in the upcoming T-20 World Cup. The duo had not played T-20 cricket for almost a year after India’s humiliating loss against England in the semifinals of the 2022 T-20 World Cup.
However, both players made a staggering comeback for the team just before the T20 World Cup. The duo has been in fine form, with Rohit Sharma adding two more T-20 international hundred to his name, while Virat Kohli has been in the form of his life, scoring over 700 runs in the ongoing IPL season.
There have been many young players like Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill, Abhishek Sharma, and Ruturaj Gaikwad in line to represent India in the shortest format. This might be the last time Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be playing in the T20 World Cup for India.
However, former Indian wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel feels that there would not be any sudden overhaul in the team as both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have once again taken their game to the next level recently.
At the intercontinental T-20 cricket launch, Patel believes that both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma can play important roles for India after the T-20 World Cup.
“The two greatest players in history, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, have a great understanding of their respective sports. They are aware of their position. They are constantly redefining themselves. “They consistently reinvent themselves, as evidenced by what we saw from Rohit Sharma in the 50-over World Cup and now what we saw from Virat Kohli in the IPL,” he continued.
