Indian team won two consecutive ODI matches against New Zealand and secured the ongoing series by 2-0 at home. However, before this series New Zealand won by 2-1 against Pakistan at their home under the captaincy of Babar Azam. Before that, the Pakistani team also lost the three-match test series by 3-0 against England at their home under the captaincy of Babar.
Looking at this, Danish Kaneria slammed the Babar Azam & Co. batting performances against New Zealand in the home series. He explained that the Pakistani team could not touch the feat of 300 runs in the ODI series against the kiwis. He must also figure out the leading candidate to replace Babar Azam from the T20I captaincy.
“Pakistan will have to think about the T20 captaincy and to whom to give it if they take it away from Babar Azam. Did we make any big scores of notes in the ODIs? Did anyone score double a hundred? Was there any dominant performance? No. We need to realize all this and learn from other countries like India who are exploiting their conditions. But here we are afraid of getting exposed in our conditions,” Kaneria presented it on his YouTube channel.
Kaneria further praised the men in blue for using the home condition very well against New Zealand under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. Also lashed out the Babar Azam for not getting enough runs in the home series against the same kiwis.
“Now India has a chance to test their bench in the third ODI and give new players some chances. But in Pakistan, it’s all about thinking about yourself. Babar Azam continues to score his own 50-60 runs, and the team doesn’t benefit from that; it’s just causing losses,” Kaneria added.
