Pakistan great lambasted by Rashid Latif due to this reason

Pakistan greats who played for the team in the 90s are the subject of a withering assault by former captain Rashid Latif. This comes days after Latif, in a separate discussion, urged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to keep the 1992 World Cup-winning team away from the management. The 90s players did not give Pakistan cricket any mercy, so it took 17 years for Pakistan to win another World Cup. Keep 90s players away from management and from the team as well then they will try to win. Their service to Pakistan cricket has been long now. Latif had said on Geo News program ‘Harna Mana Hai,’ “So, I believe they should rest now.”.

Latif now faults the players from the 1990s for Pakistan&’ quite early removal from the Champions Trophy. Pakistan hosts crashed after being beaten by India and New Zealand in group play to exit the event.

Although he did not identify any player, Latif called former Pakistan cricketers “Dubai ke launde”. He also said these guys spent their entire careers bickering and blaming themselves for destroying Pakistan cricket.

People from Dubai’s manly have wreaked havoc first. Dono dusre ke taarifen kar karke khush hai. Fighting all our life, we have been thrown into fire and… great people are there. Throw money ahead; they will be doing something (Dubai boys have been causing an uproar. They are glad to be ready for flattery. Throughout their career, they clashed, therefore affecting Pakistan’s cricket…interesting people. Throw money before of them; they will do anything)” said Latif on YouTube series “t back”Caught behind.

Having played for the team in the 90s and early 2000s, another ex Pakistan captain, Mohammad Hafeez, raised doubts about the heritage of those players. Failing to win ICC titles during their time caused Hazeef to lash out at the lot.

“Legacy-wise, they left nothing for Pakistan, though I greatly admire those who performed in the 1990s. They didn’t emerge victors in an ICC competition; rather, they were defeated in the (World Cups of) 1996, 1999, and 2003. One last time (in the 1999 World Cup) we finished last. They were the mega superstars as players, as stars. But then they could not motivate us by an ICC title. “Hafeez remarked on PTV Sports, followed by a challenging time we had to go through and ultimately the final (of the T20 World Cup) to be lost in 2007.”
