‘Only One Name Is Missing’, Ashish Nehra Names A Cricketer Who Must Have Been There On SA Tour

Former Indian cricketer Ashish Nehra believes that Bhuvneshwar Kumar should be considered in the Indian Cricket Team, at least in white-ball cricket.

In the recent squad selections for India’s multi-format tour of South Africa, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been sidelined in all three formats, even though several frontline seamers are being rested for the limited-overs segment of the tour.

While giving his opinion on the Indian squad being picked for the South Africa tour, Ashish Nehra said, “I am not at all surprised that the selectors have picked three different teams. Pretty much everyone’s name has come. There might be hardly any player who is there or thereabouts whose name is not there.”

The former opener said, “Only one name comes to my mind, because you are going to South Africa, and you have picked a lot of fast bowlers, and that name is Bhuvneshwar Kumar. I understand that you have other new-ball options, you have Arshdeep Singh, and Mukesh Kumar is playing.”

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has 90 wickets and he is the second-highest wicket-taker for India in T20I cricket after only Yuzvendra Chahal, who has 96 wickets. Despite his impressive record, Bhuvneshwar has not been included in the T20I squad. On the other hand, Yuzvendra Chahal has found a place in the ODI squad for the upcoming tour of South Africa.
