Pakistan’s speed gun Haris Rauf said that their team is not worried about qualifying for the Super 8 stage in the ongoing edition of the T-20 World Cup. Pakistan had earlier lost both games against the USA and India, but they returned to winning ways after beating Canada by seven wickets.
After electing to field the first Pakistani Bowlers, they once again made full use of the pitch, ran through the opposition’s batting line-up, and restricted Canada to 106/7.
However, Pakistan played slow in the second inning, as they could accomplish the target with only 16 balls to spare.
Even after a resounding victory over Canada, Pakistan’s fate is not in their own hands, as India and the USA are the top two contenders from Group A to advance into the next stage.
However, Pakistan’s speed gun, Haris Rauf, said that the team is focusing on their matches rather than the other results.
In his post-match presentation, Haris Rauf said, “No, no, nothing like that is going on in our minds. We’re focusing only on our match and how to play. If we win our match, then we will accept whatever happens.”
Rauf further stated,”Yes, you know that winning is so important. You have to set a tone in any tournament: we won the match, our focus is on our games, and hopefully we win the next match. And then whatever happens, if we qualify, then God willingly, we will qualify, and we will play good cricket in the future.”
Rauf had a great day in the office as he finished with figures of 4-0-26-2, and he became the second bowler after Shadab Khan to pick 100 wickets for Pakistan in the shortest format of the game.
Pakistan’s last assignment is against Ireland, which is scheduled to be played on June 16 at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida.
