Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan has been picked as the captain of the season in IPL 2024. He praised Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins, calling him the best captain of the 17th season. Cummins was included in the squad for INR 20.5 crore and led the team to their first final in eight years.
Pathan said that Cummins has led the team in a great way and took all the responsibilities for the better functioning of the management.
“Pat Cummins has bowled with a new ball in some matches. He has also rolled his arm over in the middle phase of the contest. He has bowled the 19th and 20th overs as well. Pat has taken up new roles in the season.”
“He doesn’t run away from responsibilities. Pat has inspired his teammates, who are also giving their best,” Irfan Pathan said.
Pathan further added that Cummins put all his efforts into the game and his experience matters a lot for the franchise. Cummins has 17 wickets to his name in this edition of IPL 2024.
“He has used all his experience to get the best out of his teammates. They have accepted him as their true leader. He has a big heart and that has helped him in motivating the young guns. For me, he is the captain of the season,” Irfan Pathan added.
