After the announcement of India’s team for the upcoming T20I series against West Indies, Kolkata Knight Riders’ captain Nitish Rana has posted a cryptic message on social media. Both Rana and his KKR teammate Rinku Singh were not selected for the Indian team. The team will play a five-match T20I series against West Indies which will be played from 3rd August to August 13.
In IPL 2023, Nitish Rana not only captained the Kolkata Knight Riders but also had his best season with the bat. The aggressive batter scored 413 runs in 14 games. However, despite Rana’s impressive performance, the Kolkata Knight Riders couldn’t secure a spot in the playoffs. They finished in seventh place with 12 points.
Despite his impressive performance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2022-23, where Nitish Rana was among the highest run-scorers, he did not secure a place in India’s T20I squad for the tour of the Caribbean. This decision came as a surprise as senior players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were rested for the series. Despite his consistent performances, Rana was not given the opportunity to represent the national team on this West Indies tour.
After the announcement of the squad, Nitish Rana came to his official Twitter where he posted a message which reads,”Bad days build better days.”
The Test and ODI squad have been announced in which many senior players have been rested. Hardik Pandya will lead this T20I side along with Suryakumar as the vice-captain.
