Wisden has named England all-rounder Nat Sciver-Brunt and Australia captain Pat Cummins as the top cricketers in the world. Sciver-Brunt is the first English woman to receive this honor. Pat Cummins got this recognition after he guided his team to victory in the World Test Championship and the 50-over World Cup.
England’s Harry Brook and Mark Wood have been selected as two of the five Cricketers of the Year. They are joined by Australian players Usman Khawaja, Mitchell Starc, and Ashleigh Gardner to complete the list of five Cricketers of the Year.
Travis Head receives the Wisden Trophy for Test performance of the year. He achieved this after scoring 163 runs off 174 balls during the Test Championship final win over India at The Oval in June.
Brook scored four half-centuries during the Ashes series. Meanwhile, pace bowler Wood joined the England side from the third Test onwards, which helped them recover from being 2-0 down to drawing the series 2-2.
Coming back to Pat Cummins, the bowling all-rounder is currently leading one of the successful IPL franchises, Sunrisers Hyderabad in the ongoing edition of IPL 2024. His team is currently placed in the top-4 in the points table of the tournament.
