Not Kohli, Not Rohit, Aiden Markram Named This Indian Cricketer Whom He Wants To Play In SA20

The newly appointed skipper of Sunrisers Hyderabad, Aiden Markram, picked the name of former Indian skipper and Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni whom he wants to play with in SA T20 league.

In a virtual conference organized by SA20, Aiden explained that if MS features in the SA 20, our local boys learn from him. He is the kind of player with all the knowledge, which will benefit us a lot.

“Honestly, someone like MS Dhoni would be great to have in your camp just for the guys to learn from him. He has all the knowledge, and our local players in South Africa will greatly benefit from him. There are a lot of other players, but he is the one that comes to mind,” Markram explained.

Further, Aiden described his captaincy role in the team. He stated that he enjoys the responsibility. As sportsmen, we always want to win the game at any cost, and for that, he always tries to do the best strategy for the team, but sometimes it doesn’t work out, and it’s okay because it is all part of the game.

“In terms of the responsibility, you do naturally enjoy it. You always want to win as a sportsman, and when you are the captain, that even exaggerates it more. You want the team to always do well and satisfy the fans. You want to give your all; if it works out, it works out, it doesn’t, it is part of the game,” Aiden further added in the interaction.

Under the leadership of Markram, Sunrisers Eastern Town won the inaugural title of South Africa 20, and now Sunrisers Hyderabad shows reliance on him. Sunrisers Hyderabad won the title once in 2016 under the leadership of David Warner, and now in the upcoming season, they want the same victorious approach from Aiden Markram. It will be interesting to see whether Aiden will be able to have the same charisma as he has done in SA 20 or not.
