The controversy around hosting the Asia Cup 2023 has been in the news for a long time. With no better solution coming out, the Asian Cricket Council has decided not to organise Asia Cup in Pakistan and they have now picked another nation for the tournament.
According to a report of Indian Express, Sri Lanka is now the top contender to host the Asia Cup 2023. The final decision regarding the hosting of the tournament is likely to be made by the end of May. With support from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka for moving the tournament out of Pakistan, it is possible that Sri Lanka could host the major cricket event and resolve the issue.
There is currently uncertainty about the participation of the Pakistani cricket team in the tournament. Some reports suggest that they may choose to opt out from the tournament if Pakistan is removed as the host nation.
