For the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, Shivam Dube and Hardik Pandya are vying for the role of bowling all-rounder in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Dube has the edge at the moment because of his outstanding batting display for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2024 season. He holds the spot of leading run-scorer for CSK.
This year, Hardik Pandya is leading Mumbai Indians joining the team via trade. However, he has not made any contribution to any aspect of the game. Apart from his bowling and batting, his decision-making also has been very questionable.
However, Navjot Singh Sidhu doesn’t consider these two players as the best Indian all-rounders. According to him, the left-handed all-rounder from Delhi Capitals Axar Patel is winning the race for the selection.
Navjot Singh Sidhu’s statement came after the Capitals promoted Axar in the batting order. The left-handed player batted at number three and scored 66 runs from 45 balls which included 5 fours and 4 sixes.
While talking at Star Sports, Navjot Singh Sidhu said, “Axar Patel is the number one Indian all-rounder. He was promoted in the batting order and justified his promotion. It was him, who allowed Rishabh Pant to score freely. Axar deserves to play for India in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.”
However, Axar Patel is not even in consideration for the upcoming T20 World Patel as Hardik, Dube, and Ravindra Jadeja are viewed as more influential than him.
