Not David Warner Or Smith, But This Player Named As The New ODI Captain Of Australia

After the T20 World Cup, Aaron Finch will say good bye to international cricket. Finch was the limited-over captain of the side for many years and now he has decided to drop the guns.

Earlier it was speculated that any of the one between David Warner or Steve Smith would be appointed as the new ODI captain of Australia but cricket Australia has a different approach. The board has named pacer Pat Cummins as the new Captain. With this, now Pat Cummins will have captaincy duties of both Test and ODI.

The 29-Year-old player is the 27th Australian ODI skipper. He has already impressed everyone with his captaincy in the longest format of the game.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed playing under Finchy and have learnt an enormous amount from his leadership,” Pat Cummins said in a statement.

He further stated,”They are significant shoes to fill although we are extremely fortunate to have a one-day squad with a huge amount of experience.”

Finch announced his retirement last month due to back to back poor performances with the bat.
