Beginning with the forthcoming T20 World Cup, former Indian batter Gautam Gambhir wants wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson to win games for the Indian team. Samson and Rishabh Pant were selected as the team’s wicketkeepers in the 15-man roster due to Samson’s outstanding performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The captain of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) has helped his team reach the playoffs by scoring 504 runs at an average of 56 in 13 games.
Samson needs to use his entire lineage to demonstrate his abilities to everyone, in Gambhir’s opinion, since he has ample experience.
“You now have the chance to make sure you start winning games for India if you get the chance, as you were selected for the World Cup squad. You have international cricket-playing experience. You are not so inexperienced that you will give up now. You’ve played in the IPL, you’ve experienced international cricket, and now you get to play in the World Cup. Thus, maybe Sanju proves to everyone what he is capable of at this point. When you succeed in international cricket, especially at a major tournament like the World Cup, everyone pays attention and takes notice,” Gambhir stated on Sportskeeda.
Samson joined the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team in 2012, although Gambhir remembered that he never appeared in a game for them. Additionally, he thought Samson would be able to do well at the next T20 World Cup.
“only a player’s caliber. I don’t require much vision. It takes five minutes to assess his skill level as a gamer. You always develop mentally and technically. Otherwise, you won’t be able to endure for very long if you become stationary. The good news is that he hasn’t made a mistake, whether it comes to fitness, power hitting, keeping, or captaincy. You begin to read, judge, and access information more effectively with captaincy. At that point, you also improve as a hitter. If Samson gets the chance, I hope his leadership translates to his batting at the T20 World Cup,” he continued.
