India, on Wednesday, completed a series clinching win against Bangladesh as they won by 86 runs in a second T20I match of the three-match series played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
India thus achieved the record for the biggest victory margin in T20 matches against Bangladesh scoring 86 runs, advancing from the previous record of Banglore’s 50 run win at the T20 World Cup held in North Sound in 2024.
This was India’s 20th win in T20s in the year 2024, which is the second best record after 28 that India won in the year 2022. The win percentage of 95.23 however, is India’s best ever in a calendar year imagining that the team has played at least 12 T20Is.
Suryakumar Yadav’s 10 wins as captain of India also equals that of Hardik Pandya.
This is also the highest total registered by Men In Blue against Bangladesh in T20Is for the innings of 20 overs as India posted 221/9.
Concerning Individual records, seven Indian bowlers each took at least a wicket in this match – which is the most ever in a T20I.
Displaying a very aggressive batting approach, Nitish Kumar Reddy who scored 74 runs broke the record of Rohit Sharma who already held the record of most sixes in an India-Bangladesh T20I match with 7 sixes.
The visitors decided to bowl first and dramatically cut down the Indian batsmen claiming 3 wickets for 41 runs within six overs but counter tactics were employed by Reddy and Rinku in their century partnership.
The attacking batsman Reddy slammed the balls without any mercy and achieved his fifty in just 27 balls.
Reddy attacked the player Mehidy Hasan Miraz, scoring 3 sixes and 1 four from him before being caught out from him in the next over bowled by Mustafizur Rahman.
