New Zealand Star Bowler Pulls Out From Upcoming Pakistan And India ODI Series, Here Is The Reason

The New Zealand cricket team is currently in New Zealand and after this, they will move to India for a three-match ODI and T20I series. The tour for New Zealand will start from the ODI series which will start on January 18 where the first ODI will be played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.

Before this tour, the pace battery of New Zealand Adam Milne has withdrawn his name from the Pakistan and India ODI series. This is the reason, the blackcaps have now made a change before this India tour.

Milne suffered a tight hamstring injury during the recent home series against India and seeing the lack of preparation in his bowling, the pacer has marked himself out from the ODI series in both countries.

The head selector of the New Zealand Cricket Board Gavin Larsen has said that Blair Tickner has replaced the bowler and it was not an easy decision. Cricinformer wants to inform you that Tickner is already there with the Kiwi test squad in Pakistan.

“Adam was very upfront with us about his concerns around the lack of one-day bowling loading for the upcoming tours,” Larsen said.
“After chatting to him, we agreed his preparation leading into the tour wouldn’t be sufficient for him to cope with the demands of back-to-back, three-game ODI series.
“We appreciate his honesty and his genuine desire not to let the team down.”

To date, Tickner has 9 ODI wickets to his name after making his debut against the Netherlands in 2022.
