The New Zealand head coach Rob Walter disclosed an important injury status report about the team’s senior all-rounder Michael Bracewell whom they lost to the five-match T20I series against India because of his calf injury.
Bracewell sustained his calf injury when he played his third and final ODI match against India which the visiting team won to secure the three-match series 2-1 before India defeated them in the T20I series 4-1.
The New Zealand head coach reported that Bracewell achieved positive recovery results which enable him to be ready for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 that will start on February 7 in India and Sri Lanka.
If Bracewell returns to health by the expected time, he will demonstrate his playing readiness during New Zealand’s warm-up match against the USA which takes place in Mumbai on February 5 before their first game against Afghanistan on February 8 in Chennai.
