The Netherlands have named their final squad for the upcoming T-20 World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in the USA and West Indies. There have been two changes made in the Netherlands squad, which were announced earlier.
The International Cricket Council has set May 25th as the last date for the teams to announce their final squad and make as many changes as required.
The Netherlands have left out Fred Klassen and Daniel Doram, who missed their flights to the World Cup due to injury. While Saqib Zulfiqar and Kyle Klein have been named as the duo’s replacements,. Apart from this, Ryan Klein has been added to the list of reserves.
Speaking of Kyle, the Dutch star has played just three matches at the international level, making his debut for the Netherlands in February this year. On the other hand, Saqib has been recalled to the T-20 set-up after five years. Zulfiqar last played in the T-20 format for Dutch in 2019.
The Netherlands are currently playing a tri-series against Scotland and Ireland in preparation for the upcoming T-20 World Cup. They are placed in Group D along with South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal.
The Netherlands will start their campaign against Nepal on June 4 after playing a couple of warm-up matches against Canada and Sri Lanka on May 28 and 30.
