Indian team is in search of their best combination for Asia Cup and more importantly, for T20 World Cup 2022. We are witnessing lot of players showcasing their talent in recently concluded series against West Indies and England. Players like Deepak Hooda, Ishan Kishan, Arshdeep Singh and Sanju Samson are presenting their case very strongly for T20 World Cup selection. With so much competition, there is headache for Rohit Sharma to figure out best 11 for T20 World Cup.
If we see the current squad then Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Surya Kumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja have sealed their spot in batting department and their will be toss up between Dinesh Karthik and Rishabh Pant for one spot, and by seeing the current form it seems that senior wicket keeper batter has presented better case than Rishabh Pant, and he is also taking a difficult role of finisher.
But, former Indian cricketer and presently well established commentator Vivek Razdan has totally different ideas. According to him, it is needless to have Dinesh Karthik in playing11. “You are blocking a spot for Dinesh Karthik. Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Deepak Hooda or Hardik Pandya can also do that job of a finisher” said Vivek Razdan. He further added, ” Rishabh Pant wicket keeping skill is far better than Karthik, and due to inclusion of Pant we can get left and right combination in the middle overs”. If we go by Razdan words, it seems that, opinion wise he has expressed a logical idea, and his statement can not be taken lightly, but Indian captain will have his last say in selection of final 11.
If KL Rahul will declared fit for the Asia Cup then we can get a clear picture of India’s playing 11 for the T20 World Cup 2022, and it will be interesting to see whom captain Rohit Sharma will prefer among the two wicket keepers.
Dinesh kartik needs to be given more overs..He is far more reliable/dependable and experienced than Pant or Pandya..Pant n Pandya have failed India many times in tight situations,and Kartik has delivered most of the time..His Experience will be a huge bonus ..he is quite fit,runs so well ….
Razdan comments is like his cricket, pant better keeper than Karthik, this shows, his cricket knowledge. better keep quite, then talk rubbish.
Why Evey ex cricketer is causing confusion on team selection by giving opinions , they should alow selection committee to decide as India is doing fairly well. They should not effect the moral of the players as all are talented
