Namibia announced their squad for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022

Namibia had impressed all the cricket experts and fans in 2021 by offering the tough competition in Round 1, which included Sri Lanka, Netherlands, and Ireland, to make it into the super 12 stage of the tournament and they were lead by the talismanic skipper Gerhard Erasmus. For this T20 World Cup, Namibia have come up with a combination of experienced and youth players.

Everyone had already seen the remarkable players of Namibia in the 2021 edition of the tournament; they have been retained and want to repeat the same stunning show in Australia. JJ Smit, Stephen Baard, Jan Frylinck, Nicol Loftie Eaton, Ruben Trumpelmann, and David Wiese are impactful players and they have been included in the squad as, they are expected to play an important roles for the team in respective department. Namibia has also selected a few new players who will debut in the World cup in T20 international cricket.

Namibia has appointed Morkel as their bowling coach for the T20 World Cup 2022. They are considered as underdogs in the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia. Some other important players such as wicketkeeper-batter Lohan Louwrens, batter Divan la Cock, and pacer Tangeni Lungameni are also included in the squad.

Namibia is in Group A alongside Sri Lanka, UAE, and the Netherlands. And they will play their first match against Sri Lanka on 16th October at Kardinia Park in Geelong. After this match, they will face Netherland on 18th October and UAE on 20th October at the same ground.
