South African batsman David Bedhingham revealed that while growing his interest in cricket he admired local cricket stars like Jacques Kallis and Herschelle Gibbs. As he grew older, he developed a fascination with the playing techniques of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma during his teenage years.
Bedhingham expressed that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are his favorite cricketers. He mentioned that at a certain stage in his career, he attempted to emulate their playing techniques.
David Bedingham marked his Test debut in the Boxing Day match against India in Centurion in December 2023. He made a noteworthy impact, impressively scoring a half-century in their innings and contributing to a 32-run victory.
“My two favorites among Indian players are Sharma and Kohli. I think when I was between 13-18, I was trying to mould my technique like theirs (Kallis and Gibbs) and when I had a bad game, I changed my technique to copy Kohli’s or try probably Sharma’s,” Bedingham told PTI news agency ahead of the New Year’s Test in Cape Town.
At the age of 21, during the early stages of his burgeoning career, Bedingham encountered a life-changing obstacle. In 2016, he met with a car accident that posed a significant threat to his promising journey.
