The Mumbai Indians (MI) have made some interesting moves by bringing in Jonny Bairstow, Richard Gleeson, and Charith Asalanka as replacements. These signings come after the team has decided to let go of Will Jacks, Ryan Rickelton, and Corbin Bosch, who are heading off to play for their national teams after MI’s last game in the league stage.
Jonny Bairstow, who is known for his explosive batting and is a wicketkeeper too, will take over from Will Jacks. MI has signed him for ₹5.25 crore, which shows they really believe he can help boost their batting lineup. If MI gets the chance to play in the playoffs, Bairstow’s skills could be a big advantage for them.
Next up is Richard Gleeson, an English bowler who has been brought in to fill the shoes of Ryan Rickelton. The team picked him up for a reserve price of ₹1 crore. He has a strong reputation for his pace and different bowling styles, which could give MI’s bowling attack a solid edge in their upcoming matches.
Lastly, Charith Asalanka from Sri Lanka is joining the squad to replace Corbin Bosch. He’s coming in at a reserve price of ₹75 lakh. Asalanka plays in the middle order, so he could play an important role in stabilizing the batting lineup at crucial moments.
It’s worth mentioning that all three of these players will only be available to MI if they manage to reach the playoff stage. So, right now, the team has their eyes set on making it to the top four. It’ll be exciting to see how these new additions can impact MI’s chances if they make it to the playoffs!
