Former Indian wicketkeeper-batsman and previous chief selector MSK Prasad has picked his probable Indian squad for the upcoming 2023 ODI World Cup which is scheduled from October 5 to November 19. MSK’s squad is loaded with spinners and he also kept veteran Indian off-spinner R Ashwin in it.
India won the 2011 ODI World Cup under the captaincy of MS Dhoni, hosted by India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Now the 50-over World cup has returned to home and Rohit Sharma and company will look to replicate the same performance which they did a decade ago.
Several former cricketers and experts are showing their enthusiasm by picking a squad for the upcoming marquee event. And now latest to join the list is former Indian chief selector MSK Prasad. He revealed his team while having a conversation with star sports.
Prasad gave a place to Suryakumar Yadav along with the veteran spinner R Ashwin. All-rounder Axar Patel has also managed to get a place in the team. He has picked Ishan Kishan as his backup wicket-keeper in place of Sanju Samson.
The World Cup will start from October 5 where New Zealand and England will clash each other at Narendra Modi Stadium. Team India will play its first match on October 8 against Australia at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
