‘MS Dhoni Would Have Broken Many Records’, Gautam Gambhir Praises The Sacrifice Of Captain Cool

Former Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni is being celebrated by his fans even after his retirement from international cricket. Dhoni has enjoyed a remarkable career marked by exceptional leadership, agility, and an innate understanding of the sport. However, according to former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir, there might be more to Dhoni’s batting prowess than what the cricketing world has witnessed during his captaincy.

Gautam Gambhir recently gained attention due to his comments about MS Dhoni.

Gambhir said, “If MS Dhoni batted 1 down, he would have broken many white ball batting records. Captaincy took away some part of his batting, and he sacrificed his international runs for the team’s trophies.”

Gambhir’s perspective highlights the selflessness that characterised Dhoni’s career. As the captain of the Indian cricket team, Dhoni shouldered significant responsibilities.

With his unparalleled charisma and tactical approaches, Dhoni led the team to numerous victories which includes the 2007 ICC World Twenty20, the 2010 and 2016 Asia Cups, the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013 and obviously 2011 ODI World Cup trophy.

Dhoni is still active in IPL and under his captaincy in 2023, Chennai Super Kings won their fifth IPL title beating Gujarat Titans in the IPL final.
